Financial & Regulations

  • Q: Is Financial Aid available? What sort of aid is available to me?

Yes, there is! Please click here for details.

  • Q: Are you an Accredited school? What does that mean?

Naccas-logo-black-150x150Yes. Aveda Institute New York is accredited by NACCAS – the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences. Accreditation means that a school has met national standards of educational performance that have been established by an impartial nongovernmental agency. The accrediting of schools by professional, national, and regional associations of like schools (schools with similar objectives and subject content) has long characterized the American educational scene. Through the years, accreditation of schools has been the most authoritative and reliable index of a school’s concern for integrity toward its students and quality education.

If you’re considering more than one beauty school, be sure to ask each one whether they’re an accredited beauty school. That’s important because this accreditation makes it possible for students to get federal financial aid.

What Is Aveda?

  • Q: What differentiates Aveda from all the other product lines out there?

The art and science of pure flower and plant essences is the core of Aveda. Our beauty products are alive with the life force of plants, and contain pure essential oils. Our solutions are so powerful we call them purescriptions™. While we specialize in hair care, we offer other plant-based products—skin care, makeup, pure-fume™, aromas and lifestyle—that are all professionally developed, clinically tested, and go to exceptional lengths to be respectful of the earth. Our professional network, nearly 8,000 salons and spas worldwide, shares our commitment. Ever since a hairdresser named Horst Rechelbacher founded Aveda in 1978, our products have been harvested with respect for the earth, in harmony with the web of life.
